Some repairs, such as soundpost lining, open joints, and crack repairs in the back, must be carried out via the ribs. Clamping the covering and back lining is a difficult task due to the rib height. This work is performed accurately and carefully using these steel repair clamps, which are clamped over the ribs. The lower, silicone-coated jaw can be used in direct contact with the varnished surface of the back being repaired without damaging the delicate finish. The short clamping width allows for precise clamping, even when the clamps are pulled over the ribs. Various clamping angles ensure that the clamp always reaches the exact desired point on the cello or bass back.

The moving components are equipped with the classic movable brass pressure plate and a precision brass spindle with a knurled handle. The lower clamping jaw, fitted with a silicone cap to protect painted surfaces, is height-adjustable, ensuring greater versatility in application. The brass pressure plates can be optionally fitted with self-adhesive rubber-cork jaws (available as accessories, nos. 735650-735652). Steel body with a black anodized coating.
